Songs List :
1 – Wake: is a decent intro. Sounds like something Mogwai would do.
2 – Given Up: is dull & boring. Puddle of Mudd does songs like these much better.
3 – Leave Out All the Rest: sounds like it might catch on after a few repeat listens.
4 – Bleed it Out: returns to the rap/rock formula and has potential to catch on. Look forward to it being used for a montage in an upcoming Hollywood high-school movie about rival gangs.
5 –
Shadow of the Day: sounds too much like a U2 song. When the guitar kicks in around 3:00, you can almost swear The Edge was playing.
6 - What I’ve Done: would just loe to listen to it a hundred times.
7 - Hands Held High: is a politically charged anti-war rant by Mike Shinoda, set to a funeral-march-like church organ. One of the better songs on the album.
8 –
No More Sorrow: Some shredding. Some yelling. Some pretty mediocre stuff.
9 – Valentine’s Day: Holy crap. Their angst has now moved on from fighting personal demons (Crawling), the loss of Love & Trust (In The End), becoming indifferent to an abusive someone (Numb) to ‘ being alone on a Valentine’s Day’.
10 – In Between: Low-key harmonic vocals by Mike Shinoda. Marked for repeat listening.
11 - In Pieces: Yet Another Mediocre Song.
12 - The Little Things Give You Away: Probably one of the stronger songs on the record – again sounds like a U2 song. The melody sticks with you after just a single listen. Definitely a good track to end this mediocre album with.
Totally a very good album by Linkin Park that blends Rap and Rock in the right way!!!!.
